Last Updated: 5 July 2026
1. Purpose

The purpose of this Accessibility Statement is to explain SIMJA's commitment to creating an inclusive, welcoming, and accessible experience for all customers, visitors, and members of our community.

SIMJA believes that creativity should be accessible to everyone, regardless of age, disability, neurodiversity, technology, language, or individual support needs.

This Accessibility Statement outlines the steps SIMJA takes to improve accessibility across our Website, Products, Services, Creative Works, and digital content, while recognising that accessibility is an ongoing process of continuous improvement.

This Statement should be read together with SIMJA's Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy, and all other policies published on our Website.

SIMJA is committed to listening to feedback, removing unnecessary barriers where reasonably practicable, and continually improving accessibility for our customers and visitors.

  • Personally prepared, quality checked, packaged, and dispatched by SIMJA;

  • Manufactured, personalised, packaged, or dispatched by authorised third-party providers on behalf of SIMJA; or

  • The consumer protection laws that apply to the purchase.

Nothing in this Returns & Refund Policy changes the contractual relationship between you and SIMJA. Your purchase is made from Beamsley & Co Limited, regardless of how your Product is manufactured, fulfilled, or delivered.

SIMJA is committed to working with customers in good faith and will assess each return or refund request fairly, reasonably, and in accordance with this Policy, our Terms and Conditions, and applicable consumer protection legislation.

3. Our Commitment to Accessibility

At SIMJA, accessibility is one of our core values.

We believe that creativity, self-expression, education, and meaningful participation should be available to everyone, regardless of disability, neurodiversity, age, communication style, technology, or individual support needs.

We are committed to creating an inclusive environment that respects the dignity, independence, individuality, and equal participation of every person who interacts with our Website, Products, Services, and Creative Works.

Inclusion

SIMJA welcomes and values people from all backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and identities.

We strive to create Products, Services, Creative Works, and online experiences that are welcoming, respectful, and inclusive for all members of our community.

We recognise that accessibility is about removing barriers and creating opportunities for everyone to participate as fully as reasonably practicable.

Disability and Neurodiversity

SIMJA recognises that accessibility extends beyond physical disabilities.

Accessibility also includes supporting people with cognitive, neurological, sensory, learning, communication, developmental, and mental health differences.

We acknowledge that every individual experiences the world differently and that there is no single approach that meets everyone's needs.

Our commitment to accessibility includes recognising and respecting diverse ways of thinking, learning, communicating, processing information, and engaging with the world.

Dignity and Independence

SIMJA believes every person should be treated with dignity, courtesy, and respect.

Where reasonably practicable, we aim to provide information, Products, and Services in ways that promote independence, informed choice, and equal opportunity without unnecessary barriers.

We are committed to supporting customers in a manner that respects their privacy, autonomy, and individual preferences.

Equal Access

SIMJA aims to provide fair and equitable access to our Website, Products, Services, and Creative Works.

While we recognise that not every experience can be identical for every person, we strive to reduce unnecessary barriers and improve accessibility wherever it is reasonably practicable to do so.

We are committed to treating customers fairly and providing reasonable assistance where required.

Continuous Improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing process rather than a one-time achievement.

As our Website, Products, Services, technologies, and Creative Works continue to evolve, SIMJA will seek opportunities to improve accessibility through ongoing review, customer feedback, technological improvements, and evolving best practices.

We recognise that accessibility needs may change over time and are committed to continually learning, listening, and improving wherever reasonably practicable.

Our Commitment

Accessibility is not simply about compliance—it reflects the values that shape SIMJA as a business.

We are committed to fostering an environment where creativity is celebrated, individuality is respected, diversity is embraced, and every person feels welcomed, valued, and supported.

Accessibility Includes Neurodiversity

SIMJA recognises that accessibility is not limited to physical disabilities.

Accessibility also includes cognitive, neurological, sensory, intellectual, learning, communication, and psychosocial differences, as well as the diverse ways people perceive, process, understand, and interact with the world.

We recognise that accessibility is not a one-size-fits-all concept. Every person has unique strengths, preferences, experiences, and support needs, and no single approach will meet everyone's individual requirements.

At SIMJA, we strive to create Products, Services, Creative Works, educational resources, and digital experiences that are welcoming, respectful, and supportive of people with diverse ways of thinking, learning, communicating, and experiencing the world.

Our goal is not simply to remove barriers where reasonably practicable, but to celebrate diversity, encourage authentic self-expression, and create experiences that help every individual feel respected, included, and valued.

4. Website Accessibility

SIMJA is committed to making its Website as accessible, user-friendly, and inclusive as reasonably practicable for all visitors.

We recognise that people access websites using a wide range of devices, technologies, assistive tools, and personal preferences. As our Website continues to develop, we aim to improve accessibility through thoughtful design, regular review, and ongoing improvements wherever reasonably practicable.

While we strive to provide an accessible experience, we acknowledge that some areas of the Website or third-party content may not yet achieve the same level of accessibility. We are committed to continually identifying opportunities for improvement.

Website Design

SIMJA aims to design and maintain its Website using accessibility principles that support a broad range of users.

Where reasonably practicable, this includes:

  • Clear and consistent page layouts;

  • Logical navigation;

  • Readable typography;

  • Appropriate spacing and visual hierarchy;

  • Consistent headings and page structure;

  • Plain language wherever appropriate; and

  • Responsive layouts that adapt to different screen sizes and devices.

Keyboard Navigation

Where reasonably practicable, SIMJA aims to ensure that key Website functions can be accessed using a keyboard without requiring a mouse or other pointing device.

We recognise that some functionality provided by third-party services may have different accessibility features or limitations.

Readable Content

SIMJA aims to present Website content in a way that supports readability.

Where reasonably practicable, this may include:

  • Readable font choices;

  • Appropriate font sizing;

  • Clear paragraph structure;

  • Meaningful headings;

  • Lists where appropriate;

  • Plain and understandable language; and

  • Content organised into logical sections.

Colour and Visual Design

SIMJA aims to use colours and visual elements that support readability and usability.

Where reasonably practicable, we seek to:

  • Maintain appropriate colour contrast;

  • Avoid relying solely on colour to communicate important information;

  • Present information using clear visual hierarchy; and

  • Design pages that remain understandable across a variety of devices and display settings.

Responsive Design

SIMJA aims to provide a Website that functions across a variety of modern devices and screen sizes.

Where reasonably practicable, our Website is designed to adapt to desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices to improve usability for a broad range of visitors.

Images and Alternative Text

Where reasonably practicable, SIMJA aims to provide meaningful alternative text or descriptive information for important images that convey information or support navigation.

Some decorative images may not require alternative text where they do not contribute meaningful content.

We recognise that alternative text may not yet be available for all existing content and will continue to improve this over time.

Headings and Navigation

SIMJA aims to organise Website content using logical headings, consistent navigation, and clear page structure to help visitors locate information more easily.

We strive to keep navigation intuitive and to minimise unnecessary complexity wherever reasonably practicable.

Ongoing Improvements

Website accessibility is an ongoing process.

As technology, accessibility standards, customer needs, and our Website continue to evolve, SIMJA will continue reviewing and improving the accessibility of our digital content wherever reasonably practicable.

We welcome constructive feedback from our customers and visitors to help us identify opportunities for further improvement.

5. Product Accessibility

SIMJA believes that accessibility extends beyond our Website and includes the Products, Services, and Creative Works we offer.

We recognise that customers have different needs, preferences, abilities, sensory experiences, and ways of interacting with products. Wherever reasonably practicable, we aim to provide clear, accurate, and helpful information to assist customers in making informed purchasing decisions.

As our Product range continues to grow, we remain committed to improving the accessibility and usability of our product information.

Clear Product Information

Where reasonably practicable, SIMJA aims to provide clear and easy-to-understand product information, including:

  • Product descriptions;

  • Intended use;

  • Product features;

  • Dimensions and measurements;

  • Sizing information;

  • Available options and variations; and

  • Other information relevant to the Product.

We strive to present product information using plain language wherever appropriate to support a wide range of customers.

Sizing Information

Where applicable, SIMJA aims to provide sizing guides, measurement information, and fit guidance to help customers choose suitable Products.

Sizing information is intended as a guide only and may vary slightly between manufacturers, materials, production methods, and Product styles.

Customers are encouraged to review available sizing information before placing an order.

Materials and Care Instructions

Where reasonably practicable, SIMJA aims to provide information about:

  • Product materials;

  • Fabric composition;

  • Printing methods;

  • Care instructions;

  • Cleaning recommendations;

  • Intended use; and

  • Other Product-specific information that may assist customers in caring for their purchase.

Where information is supplied by authorised third-party providers, SIMJA will make reasonable efforts to present that information accurately.

Sensory Information

SIMJA recognises that sensory experiences can be an important consideration for many customers.

Where reasonably practicable, we aim to provide sensory-related information that may assist customers in understanding how a Product may feel, wear, or be experienced.

Depending on the Product, this information may include:

  • Fabric texture;

  • Material weight;

  • Surface finish;

  • Flexibility;

  • Softness or firmness;

  • Visual characteristics;

  • Print location;

  • Construction features; and

  • Other relevant sensory characteristics where known.

Sensory experiences are highly individual, and descriptions are provided as general guidance only.

Educational Resources

Where appropriate, SIMJA may provide educational information, visual guides, care resources, instructional materials, or other supporting content to help customers better understand, use, or care for our Products and Creative Works.

These resources are intended to improve accessibility, confidence, and customer experience and may evolve as our Products and Services continue to develop.

Ongoing Improvement

SIMJA recognises that accessibility needs differ from person to person.

We are committed to continually reviewing our Products, product information, educational resources, and supporting materials to identify opportunities for improvement.

Customer feedback plays an important role in this process, and we welcome suggestions that help us make our Products and Services more accessible, inclusive, and informative for everyone.

6. Inclusive Design

At SIMJA, inclusive design is more than a design principle—it is part of who we are.

We believe that creativity should be welcoming, understandable, and enjoyable for people with diverse abilities, experiences, cultures, communication styles, and ways of thinking.

Our goal is to create Products, Services, Creative Works, and digital experiences that are designed with inclusion in mind from the earliest stages of development, while recognising that no single design approach will meet every person's individual needs.

Plain Language

Where reasonably practicable, SIMJA aims to communicate using clear, respectful, and easy-to-understand language.

We seek to reduce unnecessary jargon and present information in a way that helps customers understand our Products, Services, policies, and educational resources more easily.

Where appropriate, we may also use examples, illustrations, or step-by-step guidance to support understanding.

Visual Supports

SIMJA recognises that many people benefit from visual communication.

Where appropriate, we may provide:

  • Photographs;

  • Diagrams;

  • Icons;

  • Visual instructions;

  • Step-by-step guides;

  • Educational illustrations;

  • Visual schedules;

  • Infographics; and

  • Other visual supports designed to improve understanding and accessibility.

The availability of visual supports may vary depending on the Product, Service, or Creative Work.

Simple Navigation

We aim to organise information in a logical, consistent, and intuitive way to help customers find what they are looking for with minimal effort.

Where reasonably practicable, this includes:

  • Clear headings;

  • Consistent page layouts;

  • Logical navigation;

  • Predictable user journeys;

  • Well-organised product categories; and

  • Straightforward purchasing processes.

Sensory Considerations

SIMJA recognises that sensory experiences differ from person to person.

Where reasonably practicable, we aim to consider sensory accessibility when designing Products, educational resources, Website content, and supporting materials.

This may include providing information about product characteristics, reducing unnecessary complexity where appropriate, and offering sensory-related guidance that assists customers in making informed choices.

We recognise that sensory preferences are highly individual and that no single design approach will meet every person's needs.

Authentic Representation

SIMJA believes that disability, neurodiversity, and human diversity should be represented respectfully, authentically, and with dignity.

Where appropriate, our Creative Works, Products, educational resources, and marketing materials aim to celebrate individuality, encourage understanding, and promote positive representation rather than stereotypes.

We recognise that every person's experience is unique and are committed to presenting diverse perspectives with care and respect.

Disability Inclusion

SIMJA recognises that accessibility includes people with physical, sensory, cognitive, neurological, intellectual, learning, communication, and psychosocial disabilities, as well as people with temporary impairments and those who use assistive technologies.

We strive to reduce unnecessary barriers wherever reasonably practicable and to create experiences that support participation by the widest possible range of people.

We also recognise that accessibility benefits everyone by making information, Products, and Services clearer, more flexible, and easier to use.

Designing for Continuous Improvement

Inclusive design is an ongoing process of learning, listening, and improving.

As our Products, Services, Website, and Creative Works continue to evolve, SIMJA will continue seeking opportunities to improve accessibility through customer feedback, lived experience, technological developments, and recognised accessibility best practices.

We understand that accessibility is never truly finished, and we remain committed to continually improving the inclusiveness of everything we create.

7. Assistive Technologies

SIMJA recognises that many customers access our Website and digital content using assistive technologies or accessibility features built into their devices, browsers, or operating systems.

Where reasonably practicable, we aim to design and maintain our Website in a manner that supports compatibility with commonly used assistive technologies and accessibility features.

We recognise that compatibility may vary depending on individual devices, software, browsers, operating systems, third-party services, and ongoing technological developments.

We welcome feedback from customers who encounter accessibility barriers or have suggestions for improving compatibility with assistive technologies, as this helps us improve the accessibility of our Website and digital content over time.
